Iftar Ramadhan 2012 - 4 August 2012 Saturday

This year, Iftar Ramadan organised by MAEC was held to reiterate to the community on the importance of moral values such as putting others before self - Inculcating the need to give as well as to help, especially the less fortunate ones; Notably during the event, tokens of $100, together with food hampers were distributed to each of the 33 Bukit Batok East’s needy residents whom graced the occasion .
It proved to be a heart-warming and a happy experience for all and our Grassroot's Adviser , Mdm Halimah Yacob was there to present the tokens and hampers to all needy residents.

BBE National Day Family Cake Decoration Contest - 5 August 2012 Sunday

A special event, which aims to promote family bonding and celebrate the National Day, was held on 5 August 2012 at the Multi-purpose Hall located at Bukit Batok East Community Club. This is the 2nd year we organised this meaningful and interesting event.
Through this event, the organiser hopes to provide opportunity for the family to spend some time together and have fun in it.Teams are made up of people from 2 different generations and they need to use their creativity to decorated a cake within the given time. This contest was Jointly organised by BBE Family Life Champion , Volunteer Induction Programme (VIP) Team & Bukit Batok East Grassroots Organisation and supported by South West CDC

Healthy & Nutritious Cooking Workshop - 04 August 2012 Saturday

To share with residents the importance of having healthy and nutritious meal, Jade Valley NC invites Mrs Ho to teach the residents 4 simple dishes of delicious and healthy one dish meal on 4 August 2012.

More than 30 residents participated in this first cooking workshop. The dishes shared are Vegetarian Fried Bee Hoon, Korean Ginseng Chicken, Royal Tokbokki and Butter Cake.

The residents were very interested and eager to know more about the home-style tips that Mrs Ho shared.

Three of our lucky residents won a kitchen weighing scale each during the lucky draw after the cooking workshop.

All the residents were very satisfied with the cooking demo and look forward to more cooking sessions in the near future.
